poetry bootcamp **
The experience of putting on a second coat of attention.
Ask, What have I been trying to grow?
Notice what changes, emerges, falls away.
Submit to a particular mystery. Make room for a few more hours.
Bring coffee, which is its own sacred ritual.
It’s a lot of information to take in in the abstract. Sweat is good.
Walk right up to the edge. Primal, down to the roots.
Spend as much time as you’d like. Refrain from criticism.
The utter freedom of permission being granted.
There’s a seat for you here, whenever you’re ready.
** I’ve assembled this week’s poem (and title) out of lines I’ve written in emails over the past week.
