We’re not writing anthologies here
We’re just trying to eat more leafy greens and cut down on electronics, trying to watch
our caffeine intake and get a little exercise. We’re just trying to write more letters by hand
and look people in the eye, trying to give advice to our children without having the door
shut in our faces. We’re just trying to pick up the trash off the street so the neighborhood
doesn’t start looking like the poster child for neglect, and for that matter, we’re trying
to do the same with our own wackadoodle minds, plying them with jigsaw puzzles
so they won’t go sour. We’re not writing anthologies here, just trying to cross out the list
of immediately broken things to get us back to the starting gate, just to reset the clock,
just so we can keep opening our hands again to pick up every piece of unfinished business
trying to steal the whole of our attention.
