according to my friend John *
or How a contractor inadvertently offers advice about revision

I can see why you like it. The foundation seems sound.
But the wood siding? I would extend that lack of maintenance to the roof.
A painter could provide an estimate to power-wash and seal.
A slab would take away that clapboard sound—
not as pleasing to some.
Also, given the age, determine the construction and condition of the components.
You don't want to inherit a sewer replacement.
Lots of trees could mean root issues
—not to disparage the roots, mind you.
But even at this basic format, I see the potential.
